THE STORY OF
HAYMAKER
I made my first crochet blanket when I was about 9 years old, using my Granny Hay's scraps of old wool. Fittingly, it was a granny stitch blanket and I remember it being the only thing that was guaranteed to keep me warm. I couldn't believe something with so many holes in could be so cosy!

Some 20 - ok 25 - years later, a lot of babies suddenly started coming into my life and I started racking my brain on what I could gift that was personal and tangible - and before I knew it my second ever blanket arrived.
Blankets turned to hats that turned to more blankets, bigger blankets, more bobble stitches, more pom pom stitches, more wool and then....baskets! ALL the baskets using cotton at first, and then jute and then back to cotton.
And then it was Christmas...and I was facing gifting round two for the babies. I knew what I was after - a token something, something original, something that wasn't clutter, and hopefully something that could become 'you've had that since your first Christmas'. I wanted a little personalised decoration with a story. The closest the thing I could find was a plain felt stuffed letter for something extortionate and I thought, 'I can do better than that', and I hope that's what I've done.
